Job Summary
Operate and optimize lifecycle email flows in Customer.io for Church, Group, and Apprentice experiences; configure segments, triggers, timing, and audience rules; collaborate with writers and designers to draft and implement templated emails; QA email logic and links; monitor engagement and drop-off, iterating flows over time; maintain documentation of live systems and ensure appropriate messaging cadence; this role is part-time, contract, remote with 20-25 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with lifecycle email, marketing automation, or CRM operations
- Hands-on experience with tools like Customer.io, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Braze, Iterable, or similar platforms
- Proven ability to build email flows, configure audience segments, set triggers, and troubleshoot logic
- Proficient writing skills to draft simple templated emails from direction and make thoughtful adjustments to existing emails as needed
- Sharp attention to detail and comfort working in data
- Ability to work from a clear outcome without needing every step pre-defined
- Strong written communication, with the ability to write with warmth, clarity, and precision
- Experience coordinating with writers, designers, or other team members to produce final assets
- Remote work experience and ability to travel for key meetings or conferences
- Experience in nonprofit/church contexts is a plus
- Statement of faith and background checks process as part of hiring
