Life Support Maintenance Manager III / Excursion and Electronically Controlled UBA and Recompression

Job Summary

Manage NSW Divers' Life Support Systems, including diving materiel, E-UBA, EC-UBA, and hyperbaric chamber systems through technical support, inventory tracking, and readiness reporting. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance on charging booster pumps, diagnostic tools, buoyancy compensators, and full face masks per OPNAV Instruction 4790. Provide subject matter expertise to advise on diving techniques, develop training curricula for maintenance technicians and supervisors, and coordinate certification and air sample testing for compressed air systems. Supervise two contractor positions, manage work schedules, and oversee the phase replacement and disposition of diving equipment throughout NSWG-2. Maintain comprehensive records of capital assets, process property loss reports, and coordinate maintenance with outside entities while ensuring full staffing coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • SECRET clearance
  • Navy Dive School Certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV, or higher)
  • Minimum eight years' experience as a certified 5342 / M1DV, or higher diver
  • Navy Instructor Certified (NEC 9502)
  • Three years MK-16 Maintenance Technician Experience
  • Three years' MK-25 Maintenance Technician Experience
  • Qualified as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor
  • Qualified in accordance with the NAVEDTRA 43910-(Series)
  • Possess factory trained certification for diving equipment within inventory, DLSS Re-Entry Control (REC) Supervisor, and Oxygen Clean System Worker
  • Minimum of Three (3) years NSW experience
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain forklift license up to 6,000lb capacity
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for use in their official duties
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain NSW Coxswain qualification
  • Must be available to travel to conduct training and maintenance at remote sites

Desired Qualifications

  • Obtain factory-trained certifications for E-UBA and EC-UBA as needed or required
