Job Summary
Oversee students in residential settings to ensure a safe environment for learning independence skills, including apartment cleanliness, grocery shopping, cooking instruction, and kitchen maintenance. Conduct Executive Functioning appointments, coordinate transportation, and facilitate roommate meetings while managing weekend activities and social skills planning. Handle student issues using de-escalation techniques, arrange Life Skills staffing for holidays, and collaborate with staff to finalize evening support plans and review goals. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Education, with experience supporting neurodiverse young adults, an active driver's license, and proficiency in office software. Located in Long Beach, CA, this full-time role requires moderate physical demand and occasional weekend work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or a related field
- Proficient with office utility computer software programs
- Quick learner in new technologies
- Education, training, or career experience in approaches, methods, and support for persons with autism spectrum disorder and/or learning differences, specifically in the area of life skills or mentoring
- Successfully managed projects and teams within a collaborative workplace environment
- Active driver's license
