Job Summary
Assist the special education teacher in providing instructional, physical, behavioral, and emotional support to students with disabilities; implement self-help, hygiene, behavior management, and prosocial skills; conduct small-group instruction and data collection; participate in professional development; work under supervision of the principal and certified teacher; assist with instructional materials, student schedules, and data collection; support students with academic, behavioral, personal care, and motor skills while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to FERPA/HIPAA requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have completed at least 30 college hours; or Obtained an associate’s (or higher) degree; or Meet formal academic assessment as required by ESSA
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Participate in and successfully complete/maintain crisis intervention/restraint training
- Participate in and successfully complete training for FERPA, HIPAA & TBSI
