Job Summary
Life Safety Inspection Technician responsible for performing scheduled inspections, testing, and basic maintenance of fire and life safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, emergency lighting) per NFPA and regulations; produces inspection reports, identifies deficiencies, communicates findings to customers, adheres to schedules, and pursues ongoing training and licensing in Texas.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fire/life safety inspection or related field preferred.
- Must possess or be able to obtain the following Texas licenses (as applicable): Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) Licenses (e.g., FAL, FEL-A, FEL-B, RME-I, RME-G, etc.)
- NICET Level I or II in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm or Water-Based Systems (preferred but not required).
- Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, NFPA codes, and inspection/test documentation.
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of environments including mechanical rooms, ceilings, rooftops, and confined spaces.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer or tablet proficiency for completing digital inspection reports.
