Job Summary
Life Safety Fire Alarm Project Manager responsible for leading the day-to-day management of multiple fire alarm/life safety projects, including scope, schedule, procurement, budget, client relations, contract administration, and risk management. Develop project plans, supervise project team members, coordinate with owners and engineering firms, secure permits and verify subs' insurance, facilitate project meetings, prepare monthly status reports, participate in proposals and presentations, maintain project records, and ensure compliance with contract drawings and applicable codes. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiating skills required; NICET/LEED/DBIA credentials preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar qualifying experience
- 8+ years construction experience
- Experience managing projects from start to finish
- Knowledge of electrical and fire alarm commercial construction
- Strong leadership and supervisory experience
- Ability to read contract drawings (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Security, Architectural)
- Knowledge of industry, state, and local code requirements
- Ability to secure permits and verify insurance coverage for subs
- Effective client relations and subcontractor negotiations
- Proven ability to develop and manage project plans and budgets
- DBIA and LEED accreditation in preferred qualifications
- NICET or related certification is desired
- Willingness to work extended hours during critical phases
