Job Summary
Life Launch Direct Support Professionals (DSP-LL) provide supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in homes, workplaces, and communities. You may assist with community connections, health and safety, money management, everyday life tasks, and helping someone go out and have fun. DSP-LLs drive their own vehicle (mileage reimbursed) and work flexible shifts; Fridays and Saturdays are required. Responsibilities include helping people participate in activities (e.g., swimming, movies, hiking, concerts), providing one-on-one supports, planning and following through with activities to help achieve goals, supporting relationships while respecting dignity and health needs, and possibly assisting with medications, cooking, cleaning, OTJAC supports, and reaction to emergencies. Certifications and training are provided as needed; duties also include completing background checks, drug screening, and mandatory abuse reporting. Wage is $20 per hour with a $1,000 sign-on bonus paid in milestones, plus comprehensive benefits for full-time employees.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver’s license and drive own vehicle (reimbursed for non-commuting miles)
- Must have and show basic computer skills and be able to learn agency applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Well-organized and attentive to detail
- Cooperative and willing to learn
- Ability to interpret various instructions
- Enhanced math skills – must be able to accurately balance a budget and basic math transactions
- Professional, clear, and positive oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- PCL’s team members must have dependable, reliable, and regular attendance
- Must pass required DHS background check and Protective Service Investigations
- Must pass a drug screening in the state of Oregon
- Must obtain and maintain certification in Oregon Intervention System (training provided)
- Must obtain and maintain certification in CPR (training provided)
- Complete all duties related to being a Mandatory Abuse Reporter
- New hire orientation and on-site training within 60 days of hire
