Job Summary
As Life Enrichment Director, lead and manage the Life Enrichment department at Era Living’s Lakeshore Community in South Seattle/Renton, WA. Design, facilitate, and oversee a comprehensive activity program for residents; supervise recreation staff; develop community relations events; maintain the monthly activity calendar; coordinate transportation; partner with residents on volunteer opportunities; design and lead fitness, memory health, and brain health programs; develop and manage the annual budget; ensure resident confidentiality and compliance with required background checks and certifications. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation (CTRS preferred) or equivalent experience, plus experience in leading teams, program design, and working with older adults. Must hold or obtain a WA driver license (CDL possible), First Aid/CPR, and related certifications within stated timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation and/or CTRS, preferred or 1+ years of similar experience, required
- First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 30 days, required
- Washington State Driver License, required
- Complete CDL Supervisor training as required for communities with CDL drivers within 30 days of hire
- Experience working with older adults or persons with cognitive impairments, preferred
- Experience managing employees, required
- Complete 12 hours of Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) yearly, required
- Must complete 70 hour course to earn a long term care aide certificate within 120 days of hire, required
