Job Summary
Life Enrichment Director develops and implements a resident-centered activities program based on residents’ interests, needs and abilities to enhance wellness and quality of life. Creates a customized monthly calendar of activities, communicates it to residents, families, volunteers, and staff, and coordinates with the Executive Director for distribution. Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers, establishes partnerships with outside vendors for health, fitness, spa, and wellness services, and supports family involvement in activity programs. Requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to problem-solve across resident care and staff management, and flexibility to work weekends/holidays/overtime. The role involves independent work, reading/writing/speaking English, maintaining a safe environment, and meeting health requirements with some driving/business-use duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Access to a private vehicle for business use may be required
- Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check
- Maintains current food handler’s card
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Experience or ability to manage volunteers
- Experience in a social or recreational program in a healthcare setting preferred
