Job Summary
Organize, plan, and facilitate activity programs promoting wellness for an assisted living resident population seven days a week, 365 days a year. Complete My Life Story profiles for each resident within three business days of move-in to tailor individual programs. Create and post a monthly calendar of events covering social, emotional, recreational, spiritual, educational, and physical needs. Manage the department budget, monitor inventory, and oversee volunteer recruitment and training. Coordinate transportation schedules for community trips and medical appointments, assist in escorting residents, and lead the monthly Resident Council meeting. Supervise Life Enrichment Assistants and collaborate with the Executive Director, Wellness Director, and Sales Team on marketing and special events. Maintain certification and attend in-services as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete within State required time frame, any training required by the State in which the community is located for Life Enrichment Directors.
- Minimum of one year working with the senior population.
- Must possess a high degree of interpersonal relations skills and capability of relating to a variety of people and personalities.
- Considerable initiative, judgment, and leadership skills are also required.
- Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to adjust to changes in workloads, assignments, hours, and days (i.e., weekends, evenings, holidays).
- Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and lift and/or push 40 pounds.
- Must have a satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must obtain appropriate Driver's License in order to drive the van for activities.
- Must be available for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Must be able to work 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree or experience in Human Services, Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, or Art Therapy desired.
- Arts and Crafts and musical ability and familiarity with Wellness Programming desired.
