Job Summary
Manage the daily operations of the nursing home volunteer program while supervising Life Enrichment staff and departmental functions. Source volunteers from community groups and digital platforms, conducting interviews, orientations, and training on safety and confidentiality. Track service hours, update policies, and coordinate volunteer recognition events. Collaborate interdisciplinarily to align volunteer placements with resident needs and help coordinate daily life enrichment activities. Monitor program effectiveness, resolve operational issues, and serve as the department lead when leadership is absent. Assist with event planning and management to ensure Quality of Life initiatives are met safely and effectively.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of Volunteer Coordinator experience in healthcare or a public agency or managerial experience in Life Enrichment / Activities with volunteer oversight duties
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Based in the Allentown campus
- Valid driver's license
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- Relevant coursework or degree in Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, or a related field
- Relevant Volunteer or Activities Certification
- Experience with PointClickCare (EMR)
- Strong preference for candidates with 3+ years of Volunteer Coordination or Life Enrichment Director experience
- Any experience is highly preferred to be in long-term care
- Excellent communication, public speaking, and collaborative skills
- Strong organizational skills to manage recruitment and compliance processes
- Occasional flexible hours for events and infrequent off-hours emergency calls
