Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic recreation programs that support residents' physical, emotional, cognitive, and social well-being. Conduct assessments and develop individualized recreation interventions, group programs, community outings, and one-on-one activities. Supervise Recreation Therapy staff and volunteers while supporting daily department operations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate recreation services into resident care plans and quality-of-life initiatives. Maintain accurate documentation, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, MDS, and discharge summaries. Coordinate resident and family engagement initiatives, including councils and support groups. Develop and maintain weekly and monthly activity calendars based on resident interests and assessed needs. Support staff development through coaching, training, and participation in hiring activities. Assist with departmental goal setting, program evaluation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
