Job Summary
Plan, organize, and direct individual and group programs to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of Primrose Community residents. Lead daily activities, track participation, and design creative schedules that reflect residents' interests. Develop monthly calendars featuring one-on-one sessions and group events, then distribute updated Life Enrichment schedules for resident reference. Acknowledge special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries while ordering supplies and managing the enrichment budget. Ensure all programs comply with state, federal, and other regulations. Adhere to a philosophy supporting resident dignity, privacy, and independence. This role requires flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings, with a preference for candidates with Rec Therapist, COTA, or teaching experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able and willing to work flexible hours
- This position will require some weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Able to drive residents to outside activities on the Primrose Bus
Desired Qualifications
- Rec Therapist, COTA, education and/or experience in the field of teaching or nursing
- Certification by NCCAP (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals)
- Excellent Communication (oral and written) in English
- organizational and time management skills
- Minimum of one year working with senior population
- previous experiences
- Basic typing skills
- basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (i.e. Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents or associates of organization or outside professionals
