Job Summary
Life Enrichment Coordinator in an assisted living center is responsible for developing and implementing events and interactions that meet residents’ social, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs; recruit and coordinate a volunteer body to support the mission; plan and conduct on-site and off-site activities; encourage participation through Resident Council and other committees; arrange and coordinate transportation for recreation; ensure engagement and satisfaction of residents while complying with applicable guidelines and budget; requires CDL with driving record in good standing for homes with access to HPM Independent Living buses.
Required Qualifications
- Education and experience relevant to working with frail elderly, as well as elderly having dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease)
- Course work or experience in gerontology
- Compassion for serving the frail elderly population
- Innovative and creative thinking processes
- May be a recreation therapist, COTA, OT, or state-certified Activity Therapist
- Empathetic and perceptive to the variations between individuals who reside in the assisted living center
