Job Summary
Plan and implement programs and events providing residents an Acts Signature Experience that incorporates wellness, person-centered living, and hospitality. Actively ensure residents of differing cognitive and functional levels have opportunities for meaningful engagement consistent with the Engaged Living Philosophy, informed by Montessori principles and personal history. This role supports the Acts family's 28 communities across 9 states, fostering a culture of Loving-Kindness for over 8,500 team members. An Associate's degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, or human services is required, along with three years of experience working with older adults. Certification in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director is essential, as is Dementia engagement certification or willingness to obtain it within one year. Current or eligible CPR certification is also required.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in recreation therapy, creative arts, and/or human services related field
- Minimum of three years' experience working with older adults
- Current or eligible for certification in one of the following: Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, or Activity Director
- Dementia engagement certification
- Current or eligible for certification in CPR
