Job Summary
Operate the residence vehicle and provide transportation for residents to appointments, shopping trips, and community activities. Assist residents on and off the bus, ensure proper wheelchair securing, and maintain vehicle appearance and operating condition. Coordinate medical appointment schedules with nursing and wellness directors while complying with state safety regulations. Keep certification current through staff meetings, in-services, and web-based trainings. Requires one year of commercial driving experience, a clean driving record, and a Certified Nurse Aid License.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current driver license for the state the vehicle operates in
- Clean driving record
- Certified Nurse Aid License
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
- One year of prior experience in commercial driving or large vehicle operation
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in AL, IL or SNF
- Prior experience in passenger transportation
