Job Summary
The Life Enrichment Assistant role focuses on coordinating and assisting with resident activity programs, providing one-to-one programming for residents, helping decorate for holidays, and supporting events and community engagement under the supervision of the Activities Director. Responsibilities include executing monthly calendar activities, ensuring calendars are posted, assisting residents to and from events, maintaining supplies and storage areas, supporting special events, collaborating with staff and community resources, encouraging family and staff participation, attending trainings, and performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license (possible requirement for business use), background check, food handler card, basic computer skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues. The role requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, and emphasizes safety, health requirements, independence, and a compassionate approach to working with an older adult population. Pay is hourly with a range of $19-$21 per hour, with benefits listed (health care, retirement, PTO, etc.).
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- state certified activities training program or one or more years of direct programming experience with older adults (helpful)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use (may be required)
- Criminal Background and fingerprint check
- Maintains current food handlers card
- Basic computer knowledge and aptitude to learn company applications
- Compassion and interest in working with the senior population
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime
- Ability to relate positively and communicate with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees
- Maintains clean, neat, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
- First Aid and CPR
- Meets mandatory health requirements by state regulations
- Ability to work independently (minimum supervision)
