Job Summary
Coordinate and assist in resident activity programs; provide one-to-one programming for residents who cannot participate in group settings; decorate for holidays and help carry out special events; coordinate with Activities Director and staff to assist residents to and from activities; maintain equipment and supplies; assist with quarterly events; work with community resources to enhance residents' quality of life; encourage family and staff involvement in activity programs; attend meetings and trainings; stay current on assigned tasks; require flexibility including weekends/holidays; emphasize compassionate service to the senior population; requires valid driver's license and may require food handler and background check; First Aid/CPR.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- State certified activities training program or one or more years of direct programming experience with older adults is helpful
- Valid driver’s license, and access to a private vehicle for business use may be required
- Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check
- Maintains current food handlers card
- Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position
- Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees
- Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
- Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision)
