Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging group activities for residents; provide meaningful one-on-one activities tailored to residents' interests, abilities, and needs; document resident participation; assist with the development and implementation of the monthly activity calendar; support and coordinate volunteers participating in resident programs and events; prepare activity spaces and maintain activity supplies, equipment, and program areas; participate in resident outings, special events, and transportation activities as needed; foster positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans; assist with food and beverage service during activities while adhering to resident dietary restrictions and safety standards; complete assigned projects and department tasks in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- College coursework in Recreational Therapy, Social Work, Gerontology, Human Services, or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with older adults, senior living communities, healthcare, recreation, or activity programming preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to engage groups and individuals effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, team members, volunteers, and leadership
- Ability to speak clearly and confidently when facilitating activities and making announcements
- Ability to redirect and encourage resident participation in a positive, supportive manner
- Basic computer skills, including experience with common software applications
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
