Job Summary

Marine Life Cycle and Materiel Manager for in-service support of Royal Canadian Navy vessels, focusing on marine mechanical systems (propulsion, steering, auxiliary, and related mechanical subsystems). Responsible for lifecycle management, configuration control, obsolescence and maintenance planning, technical investigations, and liaison with OEMs, service providers, and ship staff. Oversee documentation and change management, ensure spares availability, support installation/configuration audits, and manage cost estimates and work packages for customer approval. Requires in-depth knowledge of marine mechanical systems, regulatory/compliance frameworks (EAR/ITAR, DND/DRMIS, SOLAS/IEEE/CSA, Nav Ship Code), and ability to deliver technical guidance across stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangement in Halifax, Ottawa, and Victoria with 40-hour weeks and periodic travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of demonstrated professional work experience in naval/marine/offshore industry within last 15 years
  • Minimum 3-year technical program diploma (Technologists) or 2-year diploma (Technicians) in marine mechanical field or recognized licensing/certification in relevant field or Canadian Armed Forces marine trades (RQ-PO1/PO2, QL 6A/7)
  • Extensive knowledge of marine auxiliary systems (Propulsion, Steering, HVAC, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Safety standards familiarity
