Job Summary
Lead engineer for Life Cycle and Materiel management of marine mechanical systems on Royal Canadian Navy platforms, overseeing propulsion, steering and auxiliary systems; drive design intent/configuration control, manage obsolescence and changes through end-of-life, coordinate with OEMs, service providers and ship staff, and deliver cost-effective life-cycle support while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality.
Required Qualifications
- 3-year technical program diploma in marine mechanical field (Technologist) OR 2-year technical program diploma (Technician) OR certification as technologist/technician by a provincial, state, or national licensing body OR certification as one of the marine technical trades in the Canadian Armed Forces (RQ-PO1/PO2 Marine Technician QL 6A/7 Marine Engineer)
- Minimum 8 years of demonstrated professional work experience in naval, marine, or offshore industry within the last 15 years
- Extensive knowledge of marine auxiliary systems including propulsion, steering, HVAC, refrigeration, etc.
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements (IPMS, DRMIS, SOLAS/IMO, IEEE, CSA, Naval Ship Code, DND regulations)
- English language required
