Job Summary
Life Coach for Wounded Warrior (Life Skills Coach) provides hands-on coaching, mentoring, and skill-building to an individual with brain injury, PTSD, neurological disability, and/or cognitive or physical challenges in home and community settings. Responsibilities include coaching, advocating, establishing daily routines and household structure, supporting community integration (shopping, appointments, recreational activities, volunteering), facilitating communication and social-skills development, providing transportation to appointments and activities, assisting with personal care as needed, and completing session notes. Requires a valid driver’s license, TB clearance, ability to pass a state background check, orientation training, physical ability to assist with mobility, strong communication skills, mature judgment, and CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Based in Honolulu, HI with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Current TB clearance
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, including fingerprint-based processing
- Ability to complete required orientation and ongoing in-service training
- Physically able to assist with mobility and provide hands-on support as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mature judgment and ability to work independently
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to assignment)
