Job Summary
Negotiate and resolve medical liens on settled personal injury cases by communicating directly with hospitals, medical providers, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and ERISA plans. Review settlement statements to identify lien balance reductions, obtain final balances, and reconcile records before disbursement. Prepare accurate documentation within the firm's case management system while prioritizing a high-volume caseload and meeting deadlines. Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and settlement teams to facilitate efficient case resolution. This role requires prior, hands-on lien negotiation experience within a plaintiff personal injury law firm and is available to candidates located outside Los Angeles, Seattle, Phoenix, or Las Vegas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of direct lien negotiation experience within a plaintiff personal injury law firm
- Demonstrated experience independently negotiating medical liens from start to finish
- Experience negotiating with medical providers, hospitals, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders
- Strong understanding of the personal injury settlement and lien resolution process
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Filevine or comparable case management software
