Job Summary
Negotiate and resolve medical liens on settled personal injury cases by communicating directly with hospitals, medical providers, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other lienholders. Review settlement statements to identify reduction opportunities, obtain and reconcile final lien balances before disbursement, and prepare accurate documentation within the firm's case management system. Manage a high-volume caseload while collaborating with attorneys and case managers to ensure timely resolution. Requires minimum two years of direct lien negotiation experience in a plaintiff personal injury firm. Hourly range is $20.00-$25.00.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of direct lien negotiation experience within a plaintiff personal injury law firm
- Demonstrated experience independently negotiating medical liens from start to finish
- Experience negotiating with medical providers, hospitals, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders
- Strong understanding of the personal injury settlement and lien resolution process
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Filevine or comparable case management software
