Job Summary
Licensing Specialist responsible for the initial and re-licensing of family foster homes, ensuring compliance with state standards and maintaining foster home qualifications. Provides support to caregivers, assists with service coordination, and collaborates with child welfare professionals, DCF, and subcontracted case management organizations. Performs quarterly visits, timely submission of licensing packets to DCF, and follow-up on deficient packets. Maintains accurate foster home records, assists with evaluations and changes/closures, and participates in Foster Home Association meetings. Requires ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and manage time; must understand and interpret Florida statutes and policies; proficient in Microsoft Office. Must meet background, driving, and licensing requirements and be able to work in Largo, FL. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Florida child welfare licensing certification required or ability to meet criteria for certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR (recommended)
- Background screening (Level II Live Scan) required
- Clearance through reference check and local background check
- Clear E-Verify to substantiate work authorization
- Provide copy of degrees prior to first day
- Ability to understand and apply Florida statutes and administrative rules
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word; PowerPoint, Outlook)
