Job Summary
Licensing Officer in the City of Aurora, responsible for licensing activities and education of taxpayers in the Tax & Licensing Division, including compliance, invoicing, scheduling, hearings, fingerprinting, and providing technical assistance; coordinates with the Aurora Police Department, liquor enforcement, and other city departments; educates taxpayers on licenses, sales/use taxes, and related regulations; requires strong interpersonal and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse community; associate degree required, 2+ years licensing/clerical accounting experience, and Alcohol Law Education certificate within 6 months of hire; salary commensurate with experience, hourly range $25.01-$31.26, with benefits and city programs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or directly related field
- At least 2 years’ licensing or clerical accounting experience including at least 1 year of paralegal experience involving public contact
- Certificate from State Department of Revenue for Alcohol Law Education must be obtained within 6 months of hire date
- Colorado Driver’s License with good driving history and current automobile insurance
