Job Summary
Assess resident conditions on admission and ongoing basis, documenting all findings and communicating changes to the interdisciplinary team. Implement nursing interventions including medication administration and treatments, ensuring safety and timeliness while administering IV fluids only if certified. Monitor residents for behavioral changes or untoward symptoms, answering call lights and assisting with activities of daily living as needed. Participate in care planning processes, updating plans based on interventions and addressing problem areas through the QAPI process. Maintain composure during crises and utilize SBARR for physician notifications. Complete at least twelve hours of nursing-related continuing education annually.
Required Qualifications
- Education from an accredited school of nursing that results in becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Current license in the state you will be working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- IV Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Current CPR/AED Certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment
- Must be able to assess the basic nursing care needs of the geriatric resident
- Must possess excellent communication skills to interact with residents, visitors and staff
- Excellent time management and organizational skills are required
- Must possess critical thinking skills
Desired Qualifications
- Long-term care/Rehab/Assisted Living experience preferred
