Job Summary

Direct and provide nursing care in accordance with established philosophy, policies, and procedures of United Medical Centers under the direction of the Clinical Nursing Coordinator. Carry out all duties for the smooth operation of the assigned unit as demonstrated by approved competency assessment guidelines. Assist in the provision of health education and disease prevention services, including diabetes, hypertension, and cardiac programs. Demonstrate knowledge of patient growth and development across infant, adolescent, and geriatric age groupings. Ensure EHR proficiency and compliance with State/Federal regulations, TJC, DSHS, HRSA, and PCHM standards. Requires current Texas LVN license, CPR certification, and two years of nursing experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing
  • Current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the State of Texas
  • Current CPR certification
  • Must be able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients
  • Must be EHR proficient

Desired Qualifications

  • At least two years of nursing experience in various specialties
  • Minimum of one to two years of supervisory responsibilities
  • Prior experience in patient education (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, cardiac and other health related education programs)
