Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse position at Texas School for the Deaf (Austin) with Sun–Thu 1:00–9:00pm shifts for 10.5 months. Provides highly complex nursing care, administers medications, monitors treatments, performs assessments including vital signs, maintains patient records, documents orders, and communicates health information to parents. Requires LVN license in Texas, and experience with deaf individuals, psychiatric and pediatric care, and knowledge of Deaf culture. Duties include counseling and supervising clients in health care needs, ensuring nursing supplies, and coordinating school-health clinic activities under general supervision. Competitive responsibilities emphasize clinical nursing, record-keeping, and collaboration with a Director of Student Support Services. Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the State of Texas
- Sign Language proficiency level (as specified)
