Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse provides subacute care and supports night-shift nursing under RN supervision. Responsible for administering medications (non-IV/non-intrathecal), performing treatments, wound care coordination, data collection, and EMR documentation. Contributes to individualized care plans, patient education, and department operations. Demonstrates AIDET-based patient communication, SBAR reporting, and collaboration across disciplines to coordinate patient transfers, discharges, and referrals. Maintains HIPAA compliance, quality standards, and safety while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Current LVN license in California
- At least 1 year of experience in the department of assignment
- Ability to accurately document pertinent patient information in EMR
- Proficiency in administering medications and wound care
- Familiarity with HIPAA and SBAR communication
- Ability to perform nursing procedures under supervision of RN
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in AIDET patient communication
