Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse needed to oversee the Wellness Department in an assisted living/skilled nursing setting. Responsible for medication administration and record keeping, staff scheduling, developing daily tasks, maintaining emergency packets, updating care plans and resident charts, and ensuring proper storage and handling of medications. Will monitor and audit medication administration, document major health changes, manage med passes, update medical charts and care plans, coordinate with supervisors/doctors/families, and contribute to wellness programs and resident well-being. Must perform in-service training, comply with regulatory/licensure requirements, manage supplies/inventory, and act as shift point of contact. Requires California LVN license, Live-Scan TB/CPR/AED certifications, and a high school diploma; supervisory experience and CNA certification are preferred. Strong communication, organization, and ability to work evenings/weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid and unencumbered California LVN
- High school diploma or equivalent certificate
- Mandatory Live-Scan Clearance, TB test, physical exam and CPR/AED certification
- Preferred certified nursing assistant certification
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand the English language fluently
- Ability to work additional hours which could include evenings and weekends
- 1 year supervisory and scheduling experience
- Knowledge of medication administration, storage, and adherence practices
- Familiarity with relevant healthcare regulations and compliance requirements for assisted living facilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, scheduling, and maintaining records efficiently
- Experience in designing, implementing wellness programs tailored to the needs of elderly residents
- Effective communication with residents, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals
