Licensed Vocational Nurse - Pediatrics - Night Shift

Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with medical, rehabilitation, behavioral, and neurodevelopmental needs under RN, APRN, or physician supervision. Administer medications and treatments safely, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes to the supervising provider. Implement individualized nursing and interdisciplinary care plans while reinforcing patient and family education on medications, conditions, and coping strategies. Support patients experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges using approved de-escalation techniques and maintain a safe, structured therapeutic environment. Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and emergency response protocols, accurately document all care in the electronic health record, and advocate for patient needs. Requires current Texas LVN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, with 1–2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) program graduate
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of Texas
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- De-escalation training completed within 30 days of hire
- Required licenses and certifications remain current and in good standing throughout employment
