Job Summary
Administer general medical and psychiatric care to facility residents while assisting in medication administration and monitoring for side effects. Coordinate scheduling and oversight of medical treatment, including support during admissions and healthcare referrals. Collaborate with the Program Director, Administrator, and Psychiatrist to ensure resident healthcare requirements are met. Monitor patients, recognize adverse reactions, and report to medical staff as needed. Maintain medical and psychiatric records, complete incident reports and progress notes, and provide supervision to Mental Health Workers. Participate in required in-service education. This role is at a 6-bed rehabilitation center in California.
Required Qualifications
- A valid California Vocational Nursing and/or Psychiatric Technician license issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians
- One (1) year of post-licensure experience in a mental health setting
- A clear criminal record review and fingerprint background check
- A health screening, including a tuberculosis test, performed by or under the supervision of a physician showing that the LVN/LPT is physically, mentally and occupationally capable of performing assigned tasks
