Job Summary
Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse in Medical Surgical at HCA Healthcare's Methodist Hospital Metropolitan. Provide focused nursing care for patients with complex needs by administering medications, managing lines/drains, and assisting with interventions such as cardiac monitoring or respiratory support. Closely observe patients for status changes (heart rhythm, oxygen levels, neurologic signs) and escalate concerns for early intervention. Document timely updates to support care coordination in a high-acuity environment. Educate patients and families about conditions and recovery steps, and collaborate with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide transitions from intensive care toward recovery.
Required Qualifications
- LPN/LVN licensure or GVN (Graduate Vocational Nurse)
- LPN/LVN or GVN licensure
- Vocational School Graduate or Associate Degree in nursing
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days of employment start date
