Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) floats among Mercy Hospital facilities in Missouri on a PRN/per diem/flex basis, with scheduling flexibility to pick day or night shifts and no guaranteed hours. Responsibilities involve applying the nursing process, providing patient care under supervision of a licensed provider or RN, coordinating care with other departments, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality. Units include Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, ICU, and Medical-Surgical, with various locations listed in Missouri. Requirements include LPN licensure in the hiring state, high school diploma or GED, BLS (and ACLS/PALS where applicable), IV certification, and prior bedside LPN experience (1 year Med Surg; 2 years for ED/ICU roles). Epic experience is preferred. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and multi-shift availability across 4, 8, or 12 hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- current LPN license in hiring state
- one year of bed-side LPN experience for Med Surg
- two years for ED/ICU/etc.
- IV certification
- BLS for Med Surg
- BLS/ACLS for CC
- BLS/PALS for ED
- Epic experience preferred
- high school diploma or GED
- physical ability to lift 50 pounds
- ability to stand/walk for long periods
