Job Summary
Assist in patient assessment and treatment planning, administer medications, and implement medical plans as directed by healthcare practitioners. Respond to emergencies, maintain safety through established protocols, and implement nutrition and therapeutic diets. Document nursing encounters and communicate critical information to healthcare staff and supervisory personnel while directing patient teaching activities. Provide care in a correctional setting utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act and Correctional Health Services policies.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state employed
- Current CPR certification
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) or more years clinic experience preferred
