Job Summary
Ensure individual service plans are followed and administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians. Conduct meaningful rounds of all residents, collaborate with physicians on records visits, and document acute episodes or significant status changes. Administer intramuscular and sub-cutaneous injections, perform in-house testing procedures, and record vital signs. Supervise aides by monitoring their work, assigning residents, and specifying break times and special duties. Work with the Activity Director, DON, and Nurse Aides on the activities program, and participate in staff meetings to maintain optimal performance. Receive or place calls to physicians and follow through with orders.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- one to two years of college or vocational school
- graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- current Texas licensure as licensed vocational nurse
