Job Summary
Provide care, treatment, and general welfare to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and behavioral health issues. Perform routine and non-routine nursing tasks including medication administration, wound care, breathing treatments, specimen collection, gastrostomy care, and emergency care. Assist RNs in implementing protocols, procedures, and programs to improve overall health and safety while working under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse with latitude for initiative and independent judgment. The contract runs from November 1, 2023, to April 30, 2024, with a starting salary of $35 per hour plus a $1,000 completion bonus. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid Texas LVN license, and possess ARC BLS and AHA BLS certifications. Available shifts include 6:45am-3:15pm or 2:45pm-11:15pm, with every other weekend off required. Applicants must commit to 10 consecutive days of training, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care experience
- Valid American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
- Valid Regular Driver License (DL)
- Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
- Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Possession of a valid Drivers License
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
- Basic computer skills
- COVID-19 testing with a negative result
- Successful completion of a urine drug screen and background check
- Successful completion of an FBI fingerprint background check
- Available for 10 consecutive days of training, Monday to Friday, 8-5
- Willing to work every Saturday and Sunday
