Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide direct resident care in a long-term care setting under CA Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities include following care plans, administering medications with accuracy, conducting assessments, documenting care, and coordinating with the clinical team and DON. Roles may include treatment nurse, medication nurse, or charge nurse with opportunities to expand leadership responsibilities. Requires graduation from an accredited LVN program, active California LVN license, ability to manage crises, 12-hour shifts, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications
- A graduate of an accredited LVN nursing program
- A current, unencumbered active license to practice as an LVN in the State of California
- Commitment to accepted professional standards, practices, and guidelines for long-term care
- Ability to manage behavioral changes, identify crises, and recognize when additional support is needed
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts
- Demonstrated respect for diverse backgrounds
- Professional demeanor, initiative and sound judgment
- Calmness under high-pressure situations and conflict
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Proven initiative and leadership capabilities
- Strong organizational skills and technical proficiency
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Passing physical demands including lifting up to 25 pounds
- Proven knowledge of nursing assessments and vital signs
- Deliver direct patient care per CA Nurse Practice Act
- Administer medications with accuracy
- Documentation and charting
- Effective communication with physicians and DON
- Educate residents and families on prevention techniques
- Confidentiality of patient information
- Assist with daily hygiene routines
- Perform other duties as assigned by DON
