Job Summary
Conduct direct nursing care for residents by administering treatments, monitoring vital signs, and performing in-house testing procedures. Ensure individual health care plans are followed while making meaningful rounds with physicians and accurately documenting visits. Supervise aides by assigning residents, specifying break times, and monitoring their performance to maintain unit compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations. Maintain current health care plans according to schedule rotations and record acute episodes or significant status changes. Requires Texas nursing licensure, one-year related experience, and ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must hold and maintain current Texas nursing licensure
- Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas
- Minimum one-year related experience
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English
- Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects
- Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift
- Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners

- Previous experience in long term care preferred
