Job Summary
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides direct, compassionate support to youth, adults, and families in a fast-paced crisis walk-in setting, assisting with de-escalation, stabilization, medication support, safety monitoring, and collaboration with RNs and prescribers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include direct patient care during acute behavioral health crises, administration of prescribed medications, milieu and safety management, team collaboration, accurate documentation, and participation in ongoing training to enhance crisis care and recovery-oriented practices. The role emphasizes therapeutic engagement, observation, and adherence to scope of practice within a 12-hour shift at the Indio Crisis Walk-In Center, with a focus on reducing acute distress and supporting transitions of care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing program
- Current and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Experience providing direct care in behavioral health, psychiatric, or related settings
- Strong observation, de-escalation, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Commitment to patient-centered, recovery-oriented care
- Willingness to work 12-hour shifts
