Job Summary
Conduct direct nursing care for residents by administering prescribed treatments, performing injections, taking vital signs, and utilizing health care plans to make meaningful rounds. Ensure individual health care plans are followed and assist in maintaining current plans while documenting acute episodes or significant status changes. Supervise aides by monitoring their work, assigning residents, and specifying break times and special duties. Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures, federal, state laws, and agency regulatory guidelines. Complete required training and certification for the State of Texas. Work occasional shifts as needed to meet business needs, requiring the ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally and stand for prolonged periods.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must hold and maintain current Texas nursing licensure
- Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas
- Minimum one-year related experience
- Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English
- Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects
- Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand and walk over 75% of shift
- Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in long term care preferred
