Job Summary
Provide ongoing nursing support and medication management for a client with specialized medical needs within a Supported Living Services program. Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to train staff on blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration, seizure recognition, and Deep Vein Thrombosis protocols. Conduct routine check-ins with staff and clients to ensure medical care plans are followed, review Medication Administration Records for accuracy, and coordinate with physicians and pharmacies for timely medication delivery. Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate concerns to management. This 1099 independent contractor role offers approximately one hour per week of scheduled support with additional time as needed for follow-ups.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Experience with diabetes management, insulin administration, seizure disorders, and medication management
- Strong teaching and coaching skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to submit invoices and maintain independent contractor status
