Job Summary
Deliver professional nursing care and related assistance to patients on the assigned Critical Care unit under RN supervision. Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Licensed Vocational Practice Act, including Point of Care laboratory testing and EKG competency assessments. Maintain a level-headed professional image while striving to increase knowledge to improve patient outcomes. Requires current Texas Licensure, BLS, and ACLS certification. Located at the Wharton Campus.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited licensed vocational nursing program
- Current licensure in Texas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Certified in Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
- Certified in Advance Cardiac Life Support
- Critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Successful completion of an EKG competency assessment test
Desired Qualifications
- One year clinical nursing or related experience
