Job Summary
Provide vocational nursing services in outpatient mental health clinics, including medication management, clinical assessments, vital signs monitoring, and EKGs. Review patient records for medication consents and documentation compliance, then collect laboratory specimens and support prescription workflows. Monitor consumer self-administration of medications, utilize de-escalation techniques for behavioral distress, and serve as a clinical resource for non-licensed staff. Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and maintain accurate electronic health records. Requires current LVN licensure in Texas, CPR/BLS certification, and valid driver's license. Full-time preferred with part-time options; schedule includes daytime hours with occasional evenings and frequent daily driving within the service area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a state-approved LVN program
- High school diploma or GED
- Current LVN license in Texas or compact state
- CPR/BLS certification
- Completion of required Center trainings
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass background and health screenings
- Proficiency in vocational nursing procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records and regulatory compliance
- Commitment to trauma-informed care and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to remain flexible and organized understanding that the nature of the position may require frequent re-prioritizations of duties and demands
- Ability to remain calm and professional under stressful or high-pressure situations
- Must work 20 or more hours per week to be eligible
- Must be available for in-person and telemedicine services
- Must be available for occasional evenings
- Must be able to drive
- Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, and move throughout the clinic
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds
- Must be able to respond appropriately to emotional distress
- Must be able to safely de-escalate and manage interactions with individuals who may exhibit verbally or physically escalated behavior
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position safely and effectively, including maintaining professionalism, sound judgment, appropriate interpersonal interactions, concentration, and the ability to respond appropriately in stressful or crisis situations, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to work in an environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in outpatient mental health or behavioral health nursing
- Familiarity with EHR and telemedicine systems
- One year or more nursing experience
