Job Summary
Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, procedures, and surgeries by obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and thorough assessments. Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection while preparing and administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed. Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, monitoring, recovery, and instrument care, while monitoring anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout. Collaborate with doctors and support staff to maintain efficient workflow, maintain accurate medical records, and educate clients about treatments and preventive care.
Required Qualifications
- Current Veterinary Technician licensure
- Strong veterinary nursing and patient-care skills
- Confidence with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical support
- Strong communication and client-education skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate medical documentation
