Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery. Safely handle and restrain animals while communicating care instructions and status updates to clients. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with medication dispensing, and keep exam rooms and equipment clean. Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends; salary ranges from $28.00 to $35.00 depending on skills and experience. Full-time or part-time roles available at Montpelier Veterinary Hospital in Montpelier, VA, featuring state-of-the-art X-ray and ultrasound technology.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
