Job Summary
Emergency Veterinary Technician role on the BluePearl ER Team in Monterey, CA. Responsibilities include inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia; triaging emergency cases; performing digital radiography; monitoring vital signs; interpreting blood pressure and other vital signs; initiating CPR when needed; administering medications; phlebotomy; placing IV catheters and central lines; mentoring and training co-workers. The position emphasizes fast-paced care for critically ill or injured pets, with opportunities for growth and access to a wide range of continuing education and benefits. The role is part-time with shift differentials for nights and weekends and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Required Qualifications
- Current licensed veterinary technician in good standing
- Emergency veterinary technician experience preferred
- Ability to induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia; manage critical patients
- Proficiency in triage, radiography, vital signs monitoring, CPR, and veterinary pharmacology
- Phlebotomy and IV catheter placement skills; knowledge of feeding tubes and central lines desirable
