Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement. Communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with medication dispensing, and keep exam rooms and equipment clean. Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines. Requires LVT certification and familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and safety protocols. Full-time or part-time Monday-Friday schedule. Montpelier Veterinary Hospital offers state-of-the-art X-ray and ultrasound technology for diagnosis.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
