Job Summary
Conduct morning and afternoon patient physical examinations and treatments for critically ill and hospitalized animals. Schedule, organize, and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, while facilitating patient admission and discharge to and from care units. Mentor students on rotation and provide floating backup coverage to nursing care units and other services as assigned. Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a 24/7 academic hospital setting, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and University holidays. This onsite role at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine supports clinicians, house officers, and students in a collaborative teaching environment focused on advanced clinical treatments and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in veterinary technology
- at least 2 years of experience
- equivalent combination to Associate's degree and experience
- New York State licensure
- eligibility to become licensed in NYS
- robust clinical skillset
- ability to identify patients in crisis
- ability to provide immediate notification to clinician
